Institution Codes and Banner

Banner is unable to translate SIS institution codes into 25Live event types or categories until an update script is run by CollegeNET support. Please contact support@collegenet.com for more information.

Setting

Notes

Use Default Section Event Type or Section Event Type Translation

This setting determines what event types are used in 25Live. Either all sections will have the same event type by default, or you will use a Data Translation to set the event type according to a section's details like campus code or section type.

You can choose to configure a different event type for Continuing Education sections if you wish.

Add "MMP" to Sections with Multiple Meeting Patterns

Adds "MMP" to an event's name in 25Live when a section has multiple meeting patterns.

Add Text to Event Names of Cross-listed Classes or Combined Sections

Adds a code to an event's name in 25Live when sections are cross-listed/combined in the SIS or added to bound groups in LYNX. See LYNX Data Binding Overview for a list of added codes.

Add Section Identifier to Event Name

Adds the section identifier (also known as the course record number or CRN) to an event's name in 25Live.
Add Term Description to Event NameAppends the SIS section identifier to the 25Live event name of imported sections.
Only applicable to Workday instances.
Add Subterm Code to Event Name

Appends the SIS subterm code to the 25Live event name of imported sections.

Only applicable to Colleague instances.

Add Term Code to Event Name

Adds the term code to an event's name in 25Live.

Add Pre-Event Time

Add Post-Event Time

Adds a number of minutes of pre- or post- event time to events in 25Live. This represents the passing time between classes, ensuring each one has a buffer of reserved time. It is not recommended if your class schedule already has buffer time "built-in" (e.g. all classes follow standard time blocks).

Include SIS Data as Event Custom Attributes

SIS Data Code or Description

Specify SIS Data Elements

If enabled, LYNX will add various pieces of SIS data to 25Live events as custom attributes, using either the "code" or "description" value from the SIS.

Selecting any data element here will automatically create a corresponding custom attribute in 25Live.

Add Event Category for...

  • Cross-listed Classes/Combined Sections
  • Bound Groups
  • Back-to-Back Sections
  • Overlapping Sections

These settings allow you to search for event bindings in 25Live by adding categories to the relevant events. See LYNX Data Binding Overview for the different types of bindings available. For each binding type, you choose which category to apply.

Add ____ as Event Categories

  • Terms
  • Campuses
  • Academic Career
  • Location/Region
  • Subterm

These settings enable the Data Translation tables to add event categories in 25Live based on SIS elements like term codes or campuses. Some options are only available for certain SIS types.

Meaning of "Subterm"

Subterm corresponds to the Part of Term Code in Banner and to the Session Code in Campus Solutions.

Combine HeadCount on Cross-listed/Combined Sections

This setting determines how to handle student headcounts on combined or cross-listed sections. For example, if MATH 101 and PHYS 101 each have 20 registered students, does this cross-listed class require a room with 20 seats or 40?

You have the option to sum the headcounts together (each event uses the identical summed value), keep the original headcounts on the sections, or use the headcount value specified in the SIS where the cross-listing is defined.

This setting affects both expected and registered headcounts in 25Live.

Combine HeadCount on Bound Sections

This setting is identical to the previous one, except that it affects sections bound using LYNX's Bound Groups configuration.

Adjust Section HeadCount

This setting adjusts expected and registered headcounts by a specified multiplier, which can be between 1.0 and 5.0.

It is useful for social distancing or other circumstances when you might want to treat a class as though it requires more than one seat per student.

Ignore Non-Overlapping Meeting Patterns in Bound Groups

This setting refers to "smart binding", which is the ability for LYNX to check whether meeting patterns "match" before binding them in 25Live.

Smart binding is always applied to cross-listed and combined sections but only applies to sections and exams in bound groups if "yes" is selected here.

Exclude Meeting Pattern Types When Binding Cross-Listed Sections

Select meeting pattern types here that you do not want to be included in "smart binding".

Define Expected Head Count

This setting determines how the expected headcount is calculated for 25Live. Different SIS types have different Use Requested Room Capacity options to Define Expected Head Count.
