Configuring Object Security for Events, Folders, and Cabinets

Security Note:

Editing Event, Folder, and Cabinet object security requires the following permission in place for your security group in Group Administration: Admin: 8.0 Set Event Object Security


Setting Event Security

  1. In Series25 Group Administration, select one or more groups and click Configure... Event Security
  2. From the Find by... drop-down menu, select Events
  3. Select the optional Additional Filter Options button to filter your event results

  4. In the search field, select the event(s) you'd like to update
  5. A list of search results will appear under Selected Events 
  6. Confirm your selections by ticking the associated checkboxes
  7. Under the Object Security tab, select the object security access permission to the event(s) for each group

    If you set object security to...

    Members of the security group...

    Not VisibleCan't view the event(s)
    View OnlyCan view the event(s)
    EditCan view and edit the event(s)
    Edit, Delete, CopyCan view, edit, delete, and copy the event(s)
  8. Select the Save button to submit your changes
Note: Reset filter options

Use the Clear event navigation button at any time to reset the filtering criteria

Tip: Select multiple events, folders, and/or cabinets for quicker changes

Setting Folder Security

  1. In Series25 Group Administration, select one or more groups and click Configure... Event Security.
  2. From the Find by... drop-down menu, select Folders
  3. Select the optional Additional Filter Options button to filter your event results Filter events modal with start date, end date, and organization fields

  4. In the search field, select the folder(s) you'd like to update
  5. A list of search results will appear under Selected Folders 
  6. Confirm your selections by ticking the associated checkboxes
  7. Under the Object Security tab, select the object security access permission to the folder(s) for each group.

    If you set object security to...

    Members of the security group...

    Not VisibleCan't view the folder(s)
    View OnlyCan view the folder(s)
    EditCan view and edit the folder(s)
    Edit, Delete, CopyCan view, edit, delete, and copy the folder(s)
  8. Under the Child Folders tab, make a selection from the dropdown menu:
    • Create Folders? (This will allow users to create child folders.) 
      • Select Yes or No
    • New Folder Rights (This will allow users to see any new folders after they are created.)
      • Choose from:
        • Edit, Delete, Copy
        • Edit
        • View Only
        • Not Visible
    • New Folder: Create Folders?
      • Select Yes or No
    • New Folder: Create Events? (This will allow users to create events in new child folders.)
      • Select Yes or No
  9. Under the Child Events tab, make a selection from the dropdown menu:
    • Create Events(This will allow users to create events in the chosen folder(s).)
      • Select Yes or No
    • New Events Rights
      • Choose from:
        • Edit, Delete, Copy
        • Edit
        • View Only
        • Not Visible
  10. Select the Save button to submit your change

Setting Cabinet Security

  1. In Series25 Group Administration, select one or more groups and click Configure... Event Security.
  2. From the Find by... drop-down menu, select Cabinets
  3. Select the optional Additional Filter Options button to filter your event resultsFilter events modal with start date, end date, and organization fields

  4. Select View All Cabinets and select the cabinet(s) you'd like to update
  5. A list of search results will appear under Selected Cabinets 
  6. Confirm your selections by ticking the associated checkboxes
  7. Under the Object Security tab, select the object security access permission to the cabinet(s) for each group.

    Not VisibleCan't view the cabinet(s)
    View OnlyCan view the cabinet(s)
    EditCan view and edit the cabinet(s)
    Edit, Delete, CopyCan view, edit, delete, and copy the cabinet(s)
  8. Under the Child Folders tab, make a selection from the dropdown menu:
    • Create Folders? (This will allow users to create folders in the cabinet. Typically only Administrators should have this access.)
      • Select Yes or No
    • New Folder Rights (This will allow users to see any new folders after they are created.)
      • Choose from:
        • Edit, Delete, Copy
        • Edit
        • View Only
        • Not Visible
    • New Folder: Create Folders?
      • Select Yes or No
    • New Folder: Create Events? (This will allow users to create events in newly created folders.)
      • Select Yes or No
  9. Under the Child Events tab, make a selection from the dropdown menu:
    • Create Events?
      • Select Yes or No
    • New Events Rights
      • Choose from:
        • Edit, Delete, Copy
        • Edit
        • View Only
        • Not Visible
  10. Select the Save button to submit your changes
